Management Team Changes: Meet Shelly & Morgan

Meet Shelly, our new Assistant Program Director of Off-Site Services. Over the past eight years, she has grown her career at Merrick, serving as an Off-Site Job Coach and Program Plan Coordinator for Independent Services. We are excited to see her take this next step and continue making a positive impact in her new role.

• What inspired you to pursue this leadership opportunity?

  I wanted to pursue this leadership opportunity because of my passion for job coaching and for helping our clients realize they are capable of whatever they set their minds to. I love focusing on what these individuals can do rather than what they can't!

• What are you most excited about for the future of your program?

  I am most excited to see movement within our off-site crews and hopefully help clients transition into independent employment in the community.

• What advice would you give someone hoping to grow their career at Merrick?

  Take chances and learn to be uncomfortable in your growth; that's when you discover what you're most capable of.

Meet Morgan, our newest addition to the Utility Services leadership team. During her years at Merrick, she has served as a Direct Support Professional in Utility Services and Off-Site Services, as well as a Program Plan Coordinator and Production Coordinator. We look forward to supporting her continued growth as she transitions into her new role as Assistant Program Director of Utility Services.

• What inspired you to pursue this leadership opportunity?

  I've always had a passion for helping others succeed. I want to be a part of the success of both my team and our clients by being someone they can come to anytime for support, encouragement, or simply a listening ear. I also want to provide them with the resources and tools they need to thrive in their individual roles and work together as a team to achieve Merrick's overall mission.

• How do you hope to support clients in your new role?

  I hope to support clients in my new role by working with them to find creative solutions to challenges and develop their skills, ensuring they have the opportunity to earn their desired wage and reach their fullest potential. I am also excited to get to know our clients better, so I can provide them with the person-centered support they need to accomplish their goals and leave Merrick having had a good day.

• What do you enjoy most about working at Merrick?

  I appreciate Merrick's dedication and teamwork in finding positive solutions that help things run more smoothly so we can support our clients as effectively as possible each and every day. We all strive to bring meaningful relationships, opportunities, and respect into the lives of our clients and coworkers, and that is something I truly appreciate and am proud to be a part of at Merrick
